In revised figures released by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics on September 3, nonfarm business sector labor productivity increased at an annual rate of 1.4% in the second quarter of 2026. Output increased 1.7% and hours worked increased 0.3%, with unit labor costs up 1.2%. Manufacturing labor productivity rose 2.4%, and unit labor costs fell 0.3%.
